TimberTech Composite Deck with ADA Handrail

This custom composite deck combines a 12′ × 12′ main deck with an additional 4′ × 4′ section, providing approximately 160 square feet of low-maintenance outdoor living space. The project was built on a new pressure-treated frame engineered for strength and dependable long-term performance.

TimberTech Harvest Collection decking in the Kona color gives the deck a rich, natural wood appearance. A hidden-fastener system was used throughout most of the deck surface, with visible fasteners limited to the starter boards and fascia. A single-board-width Kona picture-frame border creates a professionally finished perimeter.

White fascia was installed around the deck and wrapped around the supporting beam for a clean, coordinated appearance. The ledger board was secured to the home using 5-inch LedgerLOK fasteners and silicone sealant, while Z-flashing helps prevent water from collecting behind the connection.

The deck is supported by pressure-treated posts and a double beam resting on 8,000 PSI footer pads installed approximately 36 inches below the surface. White vinyl post sleeves conceal the structural posts and coordinate with the railing system.

White 200 Series vinyl railings surround the deck and stairs, while a secondary ADA handrail provides additional support and accessibility. A composite shadow-box privacy fence in White Wash Cedar adds separation without completely closing off the outdoor space.

Four-foot-wide pressure-treated stairs with TimberTech Harvest Collection composite treads provide comfortable access to grade. Building plans, permit processing, material delivery, transportation, and professional installation were also included.
