Completed in 2026, this custom outdoor living project in Myerstown, Pennsylvania, combines a 20′ × 12′ composite deck, a screened-in room, an attached A-frame roof, and a 12′ × 12′ paver patio. The finished design provides multiple areas for outdoor dining, entertaining, and relaxing in greater comfort.

TimberTech Reserve Collection decking in Driftwood gives the 240-square-foot deck a natural wood-inspired appearance with low-maintenance resistance to moisture, fading, staining, and everyday wear. A hidden-fastener system creates a smooth surface, while matching Driftwood fascia finishes the exposed deck edges.

The deck was constructed on a new pressure-treated frame supported by 6″ × 6″ posts attached to a double beam. The posts rest on 8,000 PSI footer pads installed approximately 36 inches below the surface. White vinyl sleeves conceal the structural posts and coordinate with the screened enclosure.

The ledger board was matched to the height of the joists and secured to the home using 5-inch LedgerLOK fasteners. Silicone sealant and Z-flashing help prevent water from collecting behind the connection.

Four-foot-wide pressure-treated stairs with TimberTech Reserve Collection treads and matching fascia provide access to the backyard and adjoining paver patio.

The screened-in portion features white vinyl-wrapped 4″ × 4″ posts, white vertical board-and-batten-style siding, and Nano 50 screening installed with a white ScreenEze system. A 32″ × 80″ PCA Model A100 screen door provides convenient entry while maintaining the enclosure.

An attached pressure-treated A-frame roof protects the screened area from sun and rain. The roof features Slate-colored shingles, a finished white vinyl soffit ceiling, an enclosed interior gable wall, and decorative arched sunbursts within the gable opening. The home’s existing roof overhang was removed to accommodate the roof ledger.

Two recessed lights, a ceiling fan, and a wall switch complete the covered space. A 12′ × 12′ paver patio adds another 144 square feet of outdoor living area at ground level.
