Built in Friedens, Pennsylvania, in 2022, this 25′ × 16′ pressure-treated wood deck adds approximately 400 square feet of outdoor space. Wood railing gives the new deck a consistent finish around its perimeter.

A 4′ × 4′ landing provides a transition between the staircase and the yard. The design includes five support posts in total, including support for the stair and landing areas; two of those posts were added to the plans on June 30, 2022.

A gate at the top of the stairs closes off the stair opening at deck level. The staircase also includes a white vinyl-covered grab rail specified for inspection.

Ledger flashing was added to the project specifications to protect the connection at the house. Together, the landing, gate, and railing details make this a practical wood deck designed around everyday access to the backyard.
