Multi-Level Pressure-Treated Deck in Port Republic, NJ

Completed in 2022, this pressure-treated deck project in Port Republic, New Jersey, combined the replacement of an older deck with a substantial expansion. The original section measured approximately 120 square feet, while the completed layout provides approximately 465 square feet of outdoor living space.
The project began with the removal of the original deck and its existing stairs. New pressure-treated construction replaced the aging section and added approximately 345 square feet to the overall footprint, creating more room for outdoor dining, entertaining, and relaxing.
The expanded deck was carefully designed and constructed around an existing backyard tree. Accommodating the tree required additional planning and labor while allowing it to remain part of the surrounding outdoor setting.
Additional steps connect the lower deck area to the yard, while the staircase leading to the upper deck was also completely replaced. A dedicated grab rail was installed along the new stairs to provide additional support when moving between levels.
Pressure-treated deck boards and matching pressure-treated railings give the different sections a consistent appearance. With multiple levels, improved access, and a layout adapted to the existing landscape, this custom wood deck creates a spacious and functional backyard gathering area.
