Large Two-Section Wood Deck with Privacy Fencing in Exton, PA

Completed in 2026, this custom pressure-treated deck in Exton, Pennsylvania, provides approximately 630 square feet of outdoor living space. The two-section design combines a 14′ × 25′ area with a 14′ × 20′ area, creating plenty of room for grilling, outdoor dining, entertaining, and relaxing.
The deck was built with a new pressure-treated 2″ × 8″ frame and matching pressure-treated deck boards. A divider board creates a clean transition between sections while adding a finished detail to the expansive wood surface.
The ledger board was matched to the height of the joists and secured to the home using 5-inch LedgerLOK fasteners. Silicone sealant and Z-flashing help prevent water from collecting behind the ledger connection.
Pressure-treated 6″ × 6″ posts support the double beam and rest on 8,000 PSI footer pads installed approximately 36 inches below the surface, creating a dependable structural foundation.
Unstained pressure-treated railings surround the elevated deck. A custom shadow-box-style wood privacy fence provides additional separation while allowing some air to pass between the alternating boards.
Four-foot-wide pressure-treated stairs provide comfortable access between the deck and backyard. The stairs feature an approximate 7.75-inch rise and 11-inch tread depth.
