Elevated Sea Salt Gray Composite Deck with York Railing in Harrisburg, PA

Rising above the backyard grade, this custom composite deck was completed in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in 2022. The elevated design creates a spacious outdoor living area directly off the home while providing stair access to the yard below.

Measuring 20′ × 16′, the deck provides approximately 320 square feet of space for outdoor dining, grilling, entertaining, and lounge furniture. The structure was constructed with substantial 2″ × 12″ framing to support the elevated platform.

The deck surface features composite decking in Sea Salt Gray, giving the outdoor area a clean, neutral appearance with lower maintenance requirements than traditional wood. A coordinating picture-frame border outlines the perimeter and gives the decking layout a more finished appearance.

200 Series railing with black York infill surrounds the deck, adding dark architectural contrast against the gray decking. A matching gate was installed at the top of the stairs to define the entrance to the staircase.

Approximately 14 composite steps connect the elevated deck to the ground. Together, the long staircase, gated entrance, decorative railing, and picture-framed deck surface create a functional and carefully finished backyard addition.
