192 Sq. Ft. Brownstone Composite Deck in York, PA

Rocky ground conditions required additional excavation work for this 12′ × 16′ composite deck in York, Pennsylvania. Completed in 2022, the finished deck provides approximately 192 square feet of low-maintenance outdoor living space.

Brownstone composite decking gives the surface a rich, natural-looking color while offering an easier-care alternative to traditional wood boards. The deck is secured to the home with a ledger board and supported by two exterior posts.

A mini excavator was used to dig the deck footers through the rocky soil, helping establish a dependable foundation despite the challenging site conditions.

White vinyl railing creates a bright contrast against the Brownstone decking and provides a clean, finished border around the elevated structure.

Five steps positioned against the house connect the deck with the yard. A secondary grab rail was installed along the staircase to provide additional support while entering or leaving the deck.

The completed project combines warm composite decking, crisp white railing, and a space-efficient staircase arrangement to create a practical backyard deck designed for everyday outdoor enjoyment.
